Breast Cancer Statistics
A woman will die from breast cancer every 13 minutes, & over 1 million women in the United States have died of this disease since 1970. Although every woman is at risk for breast cancer, the majority of breast cancer cases occur in women with no identifiable risk factors, & based on the current life expectancy for women in the United States, 1 out of 9 women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime.

You Can Help
Bring your friends, family and co-workers because we have a fun day planned! Do you want to encourage your kids to be active? Come join us! Want to spend a morning walking with friends? Come walk with us! How about raising money for a great local cause? Join us!

We've created a gorgeous 5K route (that's 3.1 miles), so come join us and experience one of the most beautiful places in Seattle to walk or run! Our timed run and walk offers participants a scenic tour of Alki Beach with breathtaking views of Puget Sound.

Help raise money and awareness by participating in or contributing to our annual 5k walk and run. Our goal is to keep expenses and overhead to a minimum, allowing the majority of funds raised to go directly to the women who need it. Each runner and walker is asked to gather pledges of $100 or more. Click here for a handy sheet to track your pledges Pledge Sheet. The money raised will enable us to assist breast cancer patients through their journey with personalized support.

The Route
Krieger Dental invites the community to enjoy the sights and sounds of West Seattle on our 3.1 journey. Our route includes Alki Beach and the restored Bathhouse, Alki Beach Park, Anchor Park, and stunning views of the Seattle waterfront. There are cheering stations along the way, as well as restrooms and first aid for your comfort and safety.

Once registered, please review the Training Packet, as it is filled with useful information. We provide training tips, give you fundraising ideas, plus safety and route information.

We offer on-line registration at www.AlkiBeachRun.com, in-person registration starting in June at CAPERS, 4525 California Ave SW (206-932-0371), West Seattle Runner, 3727 California Ave SW (206-938-0545), or you can print out and send in the Registration Form and Release & Waiver. It is offered here in PDF format. Once we receive your registration form, we will send you an e-mail confirming your registration. Pre-registration is suggested; event day check-in time is 8:00am, start time is 9:00am.

Note regarding parking on Sunday August 29th
the 5k route will close Alki and Harbor Avenues starting at 8am. As you may know, parking is always challenging at Alki Beach. Please plan to carpool, take the bus, or come early to allow time for parking in the area.
