How to Volunteer Your Hope & Healing
Northwest Hope & Healing provides hope by relying on its volunteers to carry out our mission of supporting breast cancer patients in need. At the present time, the Foundation is run by one employee and dozens of dedicated volunteers. We are a fast growing organization and can really use your help. If you’d like to become part of an organization that is raising funds to help women in the Pacific Northwest get through breast cancer, we invite you to get on board and join the NWHH team. We have opportunities for almost all ages, interests and skill sets, and welcome you!
The grant writer is responsible for researching viable grant opportunities, the preparation and submission of grant applications, letters of inquiry, and formal proposals according to grant guidelines. Also the position entails maintaining follow up contact with grant maker regarding the status, results, and potential feedback.
Community Outreach Spokesperson
The Spokesperson would be responsible for attending community events and speaking on behalf of NWHH. The goal of the spokesperson is to raise community awareness about Patient Assistance Funds and the unique Healing Programs of NWHH.
Fund Raising Co-Chair
he purpose of this position is to raise funds for NWHH. Responsibilities to include but not limited to: Assist in promoting, obtaining sponsorship and selling tickets for events; and Coordinate/Manage smaller fund raising activities.
Fund Raising Committee Member
Committee members would be responsible for supporting the Fund Raising Chair and Co-Chair, attending meetings delegated by the Chair, and working with other members to facilitate the fund raising events coordinated by the Fund Raising Committee and Chair.
General Event Volunteer
Volunteers would assist in the running various fund raising events through out the year. The position would vary responsibilities may include staffing various local event booths/tables, marketing material distribution, selling drawing tickets, and contacting potential and current donors to inform them of NWHH events.
Gather a group and form a donor circle. Invite your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, scrap book group, or Bunco group — use your imagination! You gather a group and we will send a representative to introduce the Foundation. Everyone agrees to donate a certain amount, and you make a big difference to a woman battling breast cancer!
The sponsorship co-chair would be responsible for proposing and acquiring sponsorships from local companies as well as making application inquiries and application online. This entails developing and administering a strategy/plan to obtain sponsorships. Also, the sponsorship co-chair would assist running sponsorship committee meetings and manage sponsorship committee members.
Sponsorship Committee Member
Sponsorship committee members would be responsible for supporting the Sponsorship Chair and Co-Chair, attending committee meetings, and working with other committee members to attain additional sponsorship.
