Healing Boxes are filled with thoughtful items meant to bring comfort and care.

Each Healing Box is unique and can contain any of the items below.

  • Pashmina style scarf to bring warmth and comfort during treatment. A pashmina can be used in multiple ways – as a wrap, a scarf, or even a head covering.

  • Soft, cozy socks to provide comfort and a touch of cheerfulness. Cancer treatments, especially chemotherapy, can result in increased sensitivity to cold and poor circulation.
  • Unscented hand lotion to provide hydration and restore moisture. Chemotherapy and radiation can lead to extremely dry and cracked skin. A good hand lotion can help alleviate these symptoms, providing much needed relief.
  • Unscented lip balm to moisturize and protect the delicate skin of the lips. Applying lip balm can be a small but comforting act of self-care.
  • Journal to write down thoughts, feelings, experiences, and reflections. A cancer diagnosis can bring a wide range of emotions from fear and anxiety to hope and gratitude. Journaling provides a private space to process emotions and reduce stress.

  • Herbal tea to relieve common side effects of cancer treatments. Herbal teas can soothe the digestive system, alleviate nausea, and reduce bloating.

  • Hand-made note cards to provide words of encouragement and support.

  • Drawstring bag to hold essentials when traveling to and from appointments

  • Water bottle to stay hydrated during cancer treatment. Consistent hydration can alleviate treatment-related side effects such as dry mouth.

  • Coloring book to encourage mindfulness and manage the emotional and psychological stress associated with diagnosis and treatment.
